1. A Total of 235 Major Projects Validated by the Urban Agency of Nador and Driouch in 2016: "A total of 235 major projects were approved in Nador and Driouch by the Urban Agency (AU) of Nador for the year 2016, accounting for 60% and 79% of all the files studied in the two provinces. There are 188 projects in favor of the province of Nador and 47 projects for Driouch, says AU-Nador in its review of action for last year. These projects particularly concern housing estates, groups of dwellings, constructions, and amenities, according to the same source. At the level of Nador, the approval was given to 21 subdivisions, 106 housing groups, 19 facilities, five industrial zones, and 9 establishments for services."


2. BAM Announces a Decrease in the Total Lending Rate in the 2nd Quarter of 2017: "The overall lending rate applied by banks to their non-financial customers was 5.26% in the second quarter of 2017, in decrease of 22 basis points (bp) from a quarter ago, announces Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM). This reflects a 26 bp decrease in rates with cash facilities to 5.23%, 10 bp for mortgages applied to 5.25% real estate loans, and 4 bp for 6.67% consumer credit rates, explains BAM in a note on the results of the quarterly survey on lending rates Q2-2017."


3. Société Générale Maroc Improves Its Credit Application Process: "Société Générale Maroc has validated, in collaboration with the Central Guarantee Fund (CCG), the move to the delegation of the guarantee which allows it to grant the credits "Damane Express", flexible and advantageous financing dedicated to Professionals and VSE, with a guarantee from CCG, notes a statement from Société Générale."


4. Credit Rates Fall Again: "Turnaround of trend after a slight recovery, the overall weighted average rate declined by 22 basis points to 5.26% in the second quarter of 2017. According to BAM, this decline was due to a 26 basis point decrease in the 5.23% interest rate on the cash facility. 10 points for those applied to 5.25% real estate loans and 4 points for rates on consumption loans at 6.67%. Equipment lending rates, on the other hand, increased by 11 percentage points to 4.89%."


5. 6.09 Million in 2004 and 6.03 Million in 2014: The Number of Youths Declining Slightly: "Youths are globally less exposed to illiteracy, although there are disparities according to gender and place of residence. In 2014, the rate of illiteracy among young people is 11.0% nationally, compared to 32.2% for the population as a whole. 14.8% of girls are illiterate compared to 7.2% of boys. This rate is 4.6% in urban areas compared to 20.1% in rural areas."
