Audible Transforms Everyday Moments With A Fantastical Romance Campaign

Audible, the leading platform for audio storytelling, has launched a visually stunning and emotionally rich campaign celebrating the romance genre. Created by Fold7 and directed by Adam Berg from SMUGGLER, the campaign invites listeners to escape the mundane and dive into fantastical worlds through the power of audio fiction.

At the heart of the campaign is a cinematic hero spot featuring Airwyn, an elven princess torn between duty and love. Just as she’s about to be forced into marriage, her long-lost lover Ivaran charges in to stop the ceremony. As the two are about to reunite, their reality crumbles—revealing that the entire epic exists in the imagination of a woman doing her laundry, fully immersed in an Audible romance.

This magical twist sets the tone for a series of vivid scenarios where ordinary moments transform into passionate, whimsical scenes. A woman shopping for groceries glimpses Regency-era lovers in a secret embrace by a lake. A midnight snack becomes a sultry candlelit rendezvous. A jogger finds themselves running through an enchanted forest alongside a mysterious elf. Each moment is beautifully captured by photographer Charlotte Rutherford, known for her dreamlike and romantic aesthetic.

Bringing these fantasy worlds to life required ambitious production, including a 16-foot rotating set, trampolines, and aerial stunts. These technical feats mirror the campaign’s theme: storytelling that elevates everyday life into something magical.

Audible’s narrators lend their voices to the campaign, adding subtle easter eggs for fans of the genre. The campaign also celebrates different sub-genres of romance—from spicy modern tales to historical fantasies—making it an inclusive homage to all kinds of love stories.

The global rollout begins on August 4th across the US, UK, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, India, and Spain. Formats include TV, print, social, digital, outdoor, and radio, with additional creative assets launching in the following weeks. Visuals will also be adapted into motion formats using VFX to seamlessly blend the real and imagined worlds.
