1. Index of the competitiveness of talents in Mena: Morocco has a long way to go: "INSEAD Business School, Google, and the Center for Economic Growth have published, in the margins of the World Economic Forum (WEF) held in Jordan from May 19 to 21, 2017, the 2017 edition of the Talent Competitiveness Index in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), a study that ranks the countries of the region based on their ability to attract, strengthen, and retain competences. The countries are classified on the basis of their preparation for the future of employment. For example, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain are well positioned; Kuwait and Jordan are fairly well prepared; the Sultanate of Oman, Lebanon, and Tunisia are less well positioned; while Egypt, Morocco, and Algeria are insufficiently prepared."
2. The Executive Committee examines in Rabat the preparations for the eighth "Africities" summit which will take place in Brazzaville: "The Executive Committee of UCLG Africa held its 16th session in Rabat yesterday. Organized with the support of the Moroccan Association of Presidents of Communal Councils (AMPCC) and the Association of Presidents of the Regions of Morocco, this meeting, which ends today, examines several issues relating to UCLG's relations with various partners, including the African Union, the European Union, as well as other organizations dealing with issues related to the decentralization around the world. This meeting will also be an occasion to discuss the conclusions of the special meeting held in Marrakech on November 13, 2016, particularly the preparation of the eighth Forum "Africities" in Brazzaville in 2018."
3. Three winners will represent Morocco in the international final: "Three winners were selected to represent Morocco in the final of the Francophony International Competition "Ma thèse en 180 secondes" (My thesis in 180 seconds) (MT180s) edition 2017, which will be held in Liège, Belgium, on September29. "The three candidates were selected during the national final of the contest organized in Rabat on Thursday," says a statement from Mohammed V University in Rabat."
4. BMCE Bank settles in Kenitra Atlantic Free Zone: "BMCE Bank has just set up in the Atlantic Free Zone. BMCE becomes the first Moroccan bank to have an offshore activity in the region by inaugurating its 2nd offshore entity after that of Tangier. With its new entity settled in Kenitra Atlantic Free Zone, operational since May 22, BMCE Bank targets companies located in the zone or benefiting from an offshore status, as well as foreign companies, multinationals, and private clients."
5. Joint venture between UPS and SF Holding: "UPS and SF Holding, parent company of SF Express, have announced their intention to create a joint venture and collaborate to develop and provide international delivery services, from China to the United States, an extension to other destinations being provided afterwards. Within the framework of this contract, the parties shall operate their networks, portfolios of services, technologies, and complementary logistics expertise. This joint venture is subject to the approval of regulatory bodies."
