Lindt revives festive nostalgia with free Teddys and charity support

title..

Swiss chocolatier Lindt is tapping into the nation’s festive nostalgia with a Christmas campaign that blends generosity, childhood sentiment and charitable action. For two weekends in December, customers who bring a stocking to participating Lindt stores will receive a free Lindt Teddy, a gesture designed to rekindle the simple joys of childhood traditions.

Beyond the giveaway, the brand has pledged to donate £1 to the NSPCC for every Teddy sold this season, reinforcing its commitment to supporting children’s welfare during a period that is not joyful for all. According to Lindt’s latest research, nearly half of UK adults say they miss the festive rituals of their youth, with 73% admitting they still enjoy discovering chocolate in a stocking — a symbolic reminder of the innocence and excitement of Christmas morning.

The initiative will run on 13–14 and 20–21 December, while stocks last, across selected stores including London Piccadilly, Portsmouth, Bluewater, Leeds, Manchester, Cannock, Livingston and Bridgend.

“Our research shows adults are nostalgic about their childhood traditions, so this Christmas let our Lindt Teddy bring back the festive joy,” said Angèle Villet, marketing director at Lindt & Sprüngli UK. She encouraged customers to dust off a beloved stocking or pick up a new one before heading to a participating shop, promising “more magic into the season with Lindt Teddy.”

For Kirsty Lawson, associate head of corporate partnerships at the NSPCC, the collaboration carries a powerful message: “Many children will be gleefully opening a Lindt Teddy they’ve found in their stocking, yet, for others, the holiday period brings uncertainty and fear within the home. Young people will be reaching out to Childline with a variety of concerns. This partnership helps us continue to fund this crucial service at a time when children need us most.”

Through this dual celebration of generosity and remembrance, Lindt positions its iconic Teddy as both a comforting symbol of nostalgia and a catalyst for meaningful support during the festive season.
