Dunkin’ is tapping into holiday sentiment with “The Little Holiday Munchkin,” a charming animated short designed to spotlight the brand’s iconic Munchkins in a new emotional light. Produced by Artists Equity—the studio founded by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon—and animated by Buck, the one-minute film is narrated by actress and comedian Mindy Kaling.
The campaign is built around a newly released children’s book of the same title, with proceeds going to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. The story follows a lonely Munchkin on a search for belonging, ultimately recognized by a child who sees it as “the best bite of all.” The narrative reframes the familiar donut-hole from a forgotten add-on to a symbol of holiday warmth and appreciation.
With the line “Sometimes the smallest part is the best part,” Dunkin’ aims to elevate the product’s status within its seasonal offering and position Munchkins as a meaningful gift of joy during the festive period.
Jill Nelson, Dunkin’s CMO, emphasizes the campaign’s message: joy often comes from simple, overlooked moments—whether a treat, a gesture, or a story shared together. Mindy Kaling, who shares Dunkin’s Massachusetts roots, highlights her affinity for stories that celebrate the underdog and the holiday spirit.
Running across TV, online video, digital, and social platforms, the campaign follows the brand’s release of its 2025 holiday packaging inspired by Munchkins. The 36-page book also includes a Munchkins bread pudding recipe and is available in participating Dunkin’ stores.
