The Power of Pink: 7UP’s New Campaign Adds Colour to Everyday Life

Grey skies and dull streets may be the norm in Britain, but this August, 7UP is offering a refreshing splash of pink to lift the nation's spirits. According to a new UK-wide survey commissioned by the brand, 72% of Brits admit that colourless environments leave them feeling ‘flat and uninspired’, while 88% believe that more colour in their surroundings positively impacts their mood.

To celebrate the launch of its new Pink Lemonade, 7UP is taking these insights quite literally to the streets with its “Pink Refresh Window” activation. Bright pink murals and pop-up sampling booths will be popping up across London, Liverpool, and Manchester, serving up free Pink Lemonade and exclusive merchandise, all with the goal of turning ordinary city corners into beacons of joy.

The choice of pink isn’t random. According to colour psychology expert and author Karen Haller, the colour pink has a unique emotional power.
“Colour can influence how we feel and behave, often subconsciously,” Haller explains. “Soft pinks make us feel emotionally supported, while bold pinks empower us to express ourselves. That emotional versatility is why pink resonates so deeply with people—especially younger generations.”

In fact, the study found that Gen Z respondents overwhelmingly cited pink as the most uplifting colour in their environment. From bubblegum to blush tones, pink is making a comeback—not just in fashion, but in the emotional fabric of urban life.

As part of the Pink Refresh campaign, locals can visit the following pop-up locations:

  • London – 7th & 8th August at Kachette, 347 Old Street
  • Liverpool – 15th & 16th August at Liverpool One, College Lane
  • Manchester – 21st & 22nd August at Spinningfields, Rose Street
