LE MATIN DU SAHARA:
International Transport Forum in Leipzig: The ministers of transport give their violins to strengthen the governance of the sector: "The International Transport Forum (ITF) that is held this week in the German city of Leipzig has completed its works on Friday. This global event resulted in a number of recommendations on the Ministerial Declaration on Transport Governance."
Partnership: The Ministry in charge of MRE and the ANCFCC are cooperating for better protection of land: "With the aim of establishing mechanisms for cooperation and consultation between the delegated ministry in charge of Moroccans living abroad and migration affairs on the one hand, and the National Agency for Land Conservation, Cadastre, and Cartography (ANCFCC) on the other, a partnership was signed in Rabat last Thursday."
LIBERATION:
Morocco set this weekend on its request to integrate ECOWAS: Challenges and prospects of the Kingdom's accession to the West African economic market: "Morocco should be determined this weekend on its request to join the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), five months after its triumphant return to the African Union (AU)."
A Donald, that Trump enormously! The American president has his own climate: The Paris Agreement, and all the "COPs" with, does not care: "Donald Trump has decided to irritate the world community. Last Thursday, he announced his country's exit from the Paris Climate Agreement. A news that has aroused a wave of indignation across the world. Certainly, this is not the first false note of the American president. But this time, the ire of the international community is unequivocal and commensurate with the consequences that such a decision might entail. By announcing the withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement, one of its sad campaign pledges, Trump has clearly chosen to create a bad climate."
AL BAYANE:
Trump's Withdrawal of the Paris Climate Agreement: The world disappointment: "And one... and not the least!" On Thursday, the US President made one of his biggest campaign promises in the name of job defense; namely the withdrawal of the United States from the multilateral agreement known as COP21 signed in Paris at the end of June 2015 as a limitation of the rise in global average temperature, an arrangement that remains, above all, in the mind of Donald Trump, a legacy of the Obama period."
PLF 2017: The Councilors' flagship amendment: "The House of Councilors adopted in plenary on Thursday the draft budget law for 2017 (44 for, 22 against, and 10 abstentions). The text, which was transferred to the First Chamber for a second reading before its final adoption, was saved in extremis by the councilors who voted in favor of the abolition of the very controversial article 8 bis. This stipulates the seizability of State property. But "it is thanks to the arguments of Mr. Abdellatif Ouammou that the government has accepted the deletion of this article," rejoices Addi Chajri, Advisor in the Second Chamber. To convince, Mr. Ouammou recalled that the retention of this article would be contrary to article 6 of the Organic Law of Finance, which states that the budget proposals may contain only provisions relating to resources and charges or to improve the conditions for the collection of revenue and the control of the use of public funds."
L'OPINION:
Global Peace Index 2017: Morocco is growing by 15 seats: "Out of a total of 163 countries, Morocco is ranked 75th in the Global Peace Index 2017, published on Thursday by the think tank Institute of Economies and Peace (IEP). This index ranks countries according to five categories: very high, high, medium, low, and very low. By this ranking, Morocco has an average index of peace. It thus gains 15 places compared to 2016, occupying the 6th position in the MENA region, moving slightly away from its neighbor Tunisia (69th), but largely distancing Algeria (109th) and Libya (157th)..."
World Day of fight against smoking: One fifth of Moroccans over the age of 15 are smokers: "Alarming are the figures for the number of smokers in the world. These amount to more than one billion, of which more than 80% live in low- and middle-income countries. Alarming are the ravages caused by the tobacco epidemic that kills more than 7 million people each year, more than 5 million of whom are consumers or former consumers of tobacco products with or without smoke and more than 600,000 of passive smokers who have been exposed to tobacco smoke."
