LE MATIN DU SAHARA:
Realized by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity for a global investment of 9 million Dirhams: H.M. the King Mohammed VI inaugurates a Center for Reeducation and Functional Rehabilitation in Aïn Chock, Casablanca: "His Majesty the King Mohammed VI proceeded, in Ain Chock, Casablanca, on Wednesday, the inauguration of a Center for Reeducation and Functional Rehabilitation, realized by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity for a global investment of 9 million Dirhams. As one of its kind structure in the region of Casablanca-Settat, this Center is in line with the efforts made by the Sovereign aiming at making available to persons with disabilities or maladjustment all means to enable them to better integrate in the educational system, the social fabric, and the professional life."
Environment: The Government is examining the National Sustainable Development Strategy 2030: "The National Strategy for Sustainable Development (NSSD) is the final stretch. It will be presented to the Governing Council today for examination and approval. Its implementation is planned for this year with objectives by 2030. The development of an SNDD was launched following the direction of the Sovereign who called on the government, through the 2009 and 2010 Throne Speeches, to draw up a draft National Charter on the Environment and Sustainable Development and an integrated action plan formalized in a law framework which will have to constitute a true reference for the public policies of our country in this matter. The SNDD is also in line with the 2011 Constitution which enshrined the right to sustainable development for all citizens."
L'ECONOMISTE:
Transportation: Soon the scrapping premium for coaches: "Is this the end of the long drama of the reform of the road transportation sector? In any case, this is what suggests the statements of Mohamed Najib Boulif, the Secretary of State for Transportation, as well as Abdelilah Hifdi, the President of the National Federation of Transportation (FNTR). The two sides confirmed the re-launching of discussions for the signing of a new program contract for the sector. The goal is to avoid the failure in 2014 and to put back on track the long-awaited upgrade of a strategic sector."
Sodas: Moroccans consume less: "Moroccans consume less and less soft drinks. This has resulted in slower growth among the major lemonade producers. This is mainly due to the reorganization of spending by households, but also by a nutritional concern (less sugar, less gas, coloring...). It goes without saying that fresh juices, mineral water, and mint tea nibble year after year from market share to lemonade. By itself, tea accounts for half of the non-alcoholic soft drinks consumption. The Moroccan consumes 76 liters of tea a year, compared with 18 to 20 liters of sodas."
AL BAYANE:
Al Hoceima: Benabdallah calls for a profound political approach: "It is a fact. Progress is being made, reforms are taking place, and structured and structuring projects are being realized in the various regions of the kingdom, but there are also, in parallel and always, social and economic demands raised in several cities, in Al Hoceima, other remote and landlocked areas, and in the suburbs of major urban centers. These demands should be met and all problems should be resolved within the framework of the rule of law, constitutional provisions, and laws in force."
The European Commission opposes a scathing response to the pro-Polisario MEPs: "The European Commission has just made a scathing response to some MEPs in the corridors of the European Parliament with the aim of questioning trade agreements between the European Union and Morocco.
The response of the European Commissioner in charge of Fisheries, Karmenu Vella, published this Tuesday by the European Parliament, has come to put an end to the gesticulations of these MEPs, on foot assiduously to the service of the Algerian agenda, by first stating that the Memorandum of Understanding on fisheries between Morocco and the European Union concerns "all the territorial waters of the Kingdom of Morocco including the Sahara" and contains provisions to ensure that it is "fully in line with international law and serves the interests of all the populations concerned."
LIBERATION:
The Organic Law on the right to strike is back on track: Put an end to an old anomaly of half a century: "All the Constitutions of the Kingdom since 1962 have disposed that the right to strike is guaranteed. An organic law determines the conditions and the modalities of its exercise. Yet it has not been born until today. According to Said Khomri, professor of constitutional law at the FSJES of Mohammedia, the absence of a law on the right to strike since the 1960s is mainly due to the lack of consensus among all the actors interested in this subject, in this case, workers' representatives, employers, and the government, while recalling that social dialogue had been put under the bushel during the Benkirane government."
Hervé Renard: To tell you that things were perfect with Ziyech is to lie to you: "The national coach, the French Hervé Renard, said that to trust the players composing the Moroccan selection of football today, evokes a good state of mind within the national eleven."
AUJOURD'HUI LE MAROC:
A great battle in the first Chamber to accelerate the adoption of the text which risks a new blockage: The AMO of independents divides the Parliament: "the independents and those who engage in a liberal activity risk staying a little longer without compulsory health insurance (AMO). And for good reason, the adoption of Bill 98-15 on the basic AMO regime, for the categories of professionals, independent workers and self-employed persons engaged in a liberal activity, risk of being referred to the Greek calendars. More than a year and a half after the transfer of this project to Parliament, it is still pending adoption. And the wait is likely to last even longer. Adopted in August 2016 by the House of Councilors, the draft is to be adopted in the coming days by the House of Representatives."
Casablanca Stock Exchange: 2016, a year of opening and major projects: "The financial indicators of the Casablanca Stock Exchange peaked during the year 2016. The Casablancan place shows a double-digit growth in this direction. The turnover generated during the year showed an improvement of around 19%. This has increased from 78 to 93 million Dirhams by the end of 2016. Net income increased in the same period by 21%. It thus amounted to 39 against 32 million Dirhams a year before."
Les Inspirations Eco:
Reform of the Labor Code: Trade unions on the alert: The reform of the labor code is a red line not to be taken for trade unions, whereas this point is included among the commitments of the Head of Government Saâd Eddine el othmani. The tightening of armed forces is expected to take place within the framework of tripartite social dialogue. The executive is trying to calm the game while the unions sharpen their weapons."
Agency for Digital Development: APEBI develops its strategy: "The Apebi will soon submit proposals for amendments to Law 61-16, establishing the Agency for Digital Development (ADN). The Apebi wishes to grant ADN more power, important financial and human resources, and a regulatory prerogative."
