Air Transport: Record Traffic for RAM: "The traffic of Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has recorded a record last weekend (July 29 and 30). More than 57,739 passengers were transported on 517 flights (round trip) operated during these two days."

The latter rose from 9.1% in the second quarter of 2016 to 9.3% in the second quarter of 2017, representing a jump of 0.2 percentage points. This is reflected in the information note of the High Commission for Planning (HCP) on key labor market indicators in the second quarter of 2017. In urban environment, this rate reaches 14% against 13.4% a year ago; whereas, in rural areas, the unemployment rate fell from 3.5% to 3.2%. The number of unemployed has thus increased by 33,000 persons at the national level, bringing the total number of unemployed to 1,123,000 persons."

Southern Provinces: Tax Revolution on the Horizon?: "The tax authorities want to put an end to the exceptional situations of declaratory obligations. New procedures have been enacted in favor of operators domiciled and operating in the southern provinces. The tax authorities will be better equipped to detect fraudsters who divert the law to take advantage of the derogatory regime reserved for the regions of the Sahara."

Public Procurement: ONDA Denies Mismanagement: "In an explanatory statement, the National Office of Airports (ONDA) responds to the allegations of mismanagement in recent public procurement concerning the terminals of Casablanca and Marrakech. ONDA affirms that these tenders were passed in accordance with the rules for the allocation of commercial concessions and the new vision of the Office on the public procurement regime."
