Opening of the 9th National Conferences of Agriculture: Morocco pleads for more water efficiency: "On the eve of the 12th edition of the International Fair of Agriculture in Morocco (SIAM), the 9th National Agriculture Conferences focused on "Agriculture and Food Security along the water". If currently a 70% of the used freshwater in the world is served for the production of the agricultural products, what will happen in 2050 when the global demand for water in agriculture will increase of about a 20%? In view of this, an efficient and environmentally-friendly water management is a necessity today for the sustainable agriculture and food security."

 

Tinghir: The solidarity PPS of the comrade Ennour: "The Provincial Secretariat of the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) in Tinghir Province held a meeting at the headquarters of the Party on Saturday to examine the case of the comrade, Mohamed Ennour, the President of the Commune Toudgha Assoufla and the employee in charge of the technical service within the same commune, concerning the unjust verdicts rendered in their respect, at first instance, according to the first elements of inquiry. While expressing his astonishment at this unjust sentence, the provincial party secretariat in Tinghir said he will closely follow this case in collaboration with the competent authorities, and take all the necessary decisions in accordance with the laws in force. In this regard, the Provincial Secretariat of the PSS in Tinghir reiterates its unconditional solidarity with the comrade, Mohamed Enonour, and the employee in charge of the technical service at the said commune. Finally, the Provincial Party Secretariat calls on all the activists to show restraint until things are clear, recalling that all the bodies of the PPS at the regional and central levels are mobilized and follow this case closely."

Annual showcase of the Moroccan agriculture, the SIAM is also considered the most important event dedicated to the agriculture in Africa. Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fishing, Rural Development and Water and Forests, the Association of the International Agricultural Fair in Morocco and the General Commission of the SIAM, this event will take place in the Ismaili capital from the 18th to the 23rd of April under the theme "Agribusiness and Sustainable Agricultural Value Channels"."
