Apple has partnered with global music star Jackson Wang to release China’s first-ever Shot on iPhone music video — and it’s much more than a tech demo. The project, set to Wang’s latest single Let Loose, is an intimate exploration of the artist’s evolution, captured entirely on the new iPhone 17 Pro.
Directed by Wang himself in collaboration with filmmaker Ojun Kwon and TBWA\Media Arts Lab, Shanghai, the film blurs the line between music video and cinematic storytelling. With its striking visuals — from raw, moody close-ups to wide, sweeping shots of freedom and self-expression — the piece reflects both Wang’s personal rebirth and the growing role of mobile filmmaking in pop culture.
The iPhone 17 Pro’s advanced camera system plays a starring role, showcasing its 48MP Telephoto lens with 8x optical zoom, ultra-high-resolution wide camera, and cinematic 4K slow motion at 120fps. These features bring Wang’s choreography, emotional performances, and quieter moments to life with extraordinary clarity, turning the smartphone into a true creative companion.
Apple has amplified the release with a full-scale campaign including social media content, behind-the-scenes videos, and step-by-step tutorials where Wang breaks down how he maximized the iPhone 17 Pro’s capabilities. The visuals will take over Apple’s digital platforms, Jackson’s social channels, and major outdoor installations across Shanghai, Suzhou, and Tianjin.
Released on September 12, following a two-day teaser campaign, Let Loose marks a new creative chapter for Jackson Wang, fresh off the success of MAGICMAN 2 — his record-breaking Billboard 200 entry as the highest-charting Chinese solo artist.
